Here's a few reasons I like the colorized equations so much: The plain-English description forces an analogy for the equation. Note that color should not be used as the only way to identify something, because it will become meaningless on black-and-white media or for color-blind people. This command forces LaTeX to give an equation the full height it needs to display as if it were on its own line. Greek letters are commonly used in mathematics, and they are very easy to type in math mode.

I am trying to make the x-label colored, but I have no idea how to establish that. The difficulty is that I want to use LaTeX font and the package "amsmath". I believe the problem here might be in the Latex regime.
This is in red and this box is gold. Text color can be set using RGB values like so , or shades of grey. Many others are available in the math environment, including all the lower case greek letters and most of the upper case ones.
